bah humbug

well well well, i am absolutely bored out of my mind. i've been inside for the last 4 days. anyways, i caught something nasty. was it the flu? or was it those few days of chipotle cravings i gave in to? nobody knows...even the doctor. you think they'd know more with all the schooling they went through.
My experience at the doctors was less than sightly. i near had a heart attack when they made me aware that the needle needed to go into the flesh of my buttocks. yup. my butt. i actually screamed, cried, and managed to pull my arse away from the needle, temporarily un-inserting it. ya. pretty sure that's the cause for my un-natural limp i have going on--for the last 2 days. and what did that magical shot due? it made me forget all about the wrenching pain in my stomach and directed it all towards my upper-butt, where i got my shot. yes, those doctors are miracle workers. I obviously looked cuter than this man in the picture below, but i felt the same way! haha (great pic though)

on a happier note, i am glad to say that my christmas shopping is all done, minus a few odds and ends. i feel a little guilty for not getting christmas cards out this year, but hell, i just finished my thank yous for the wedding. christmas cards can wait till next year, with hopefully a lot more exciting stuff to put in them.
on another happy note. i am cured of my addiction to pepsi/coke/cherry pepsi/vanilla coke---and a big ol thanks to my previously-complained-about stomach bug. yup. it's a fact. i couldn't eat or drink anything for a few days, and with it came and went the caffeine withdrawl headaches and now, i am, again, healed. can't wait for a week from now when i'm back in action. haha

well this is all from the couch today...except a big big excitement shout out to a few of my new favorite shows that are at the end of their season. "american horror story" and "the real housewives of beverly hills" and "revenge" and last, but not least, the biggest loser...that actually already ended! but it was so amazing. i really wish Ramon would have won, but i loved john too. ahhh. ok. goodnight everyone.

just a few minor obsessions

so it's the season for being broke as a joke, while simultaneously being the season for wanting and wanting and the release of b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l clothes. so i have started a need list, that will most likely never make it to my closet, but if i just so happen to either win the lottery or trip over an unwanted suitcase full of hundreds, it's just not happening. however, i will share my current lustings...
first, we have....
the g star rebel leather bomber. it's amazing on. they have it at the gstar store online or at the gateway, if any of you leather lovers want to splurge.

second, we have....
the haute hippie rabbit fur. it's at nordys and i'm sure it's available online.
THESE are what i want for christmas, SANTA. thank you.

shopping. shopping. shopping.

Yesterday was Nordstrom's employee shop day, which is really great, because it's Nordstrom's day, that they plan and set aside for all the employees to have some time to go around and get all their shopping done. Nordstrom is a great company that way, but then again, I guess it is great for their pocketbook too. What better way to market than to have all the employees wearing all that awesome-and expensive-stuff. Such incentive...right? Anyways, I got some really cute stuff. One of my new favorite designers is Vince. Of course, being in Utah, a little behind the times, I've missed out on some of his earlier stuff, but he has really great cashmere, knits, and sweaters. I have yet to try a woven of his, but I'm sure they are divine. Anyways, I own a couple sweaters and yesterday I added another. I'm absolutely in love with this black and charcoal horizontal striped cashmere sweater. It's the best swearer....ever.

My next purchase was this simple, yet awesome fitting long sleeve pocket tee. I know it looks plain jane, but the fit is impeccable and I'm certain that it's going to make a great layering piece, and even just be cute with a fur vest or some leggings. Anyways, it's T by Alexander Wang and a really good deal. Basically free!

This Bailey 44 trench was another one of my favorite things. It has the detachable black sweater hood piece, which I love, because it's detachable...making one item into two!! I have wonderful reasoning when justifying comes into play. Its a great classic caramel/camel color and has elastic in the waist...so it cinches in and looks great on...showing off (or giving the impression of) a tiny waist. I had to order this one, because they didn't have my size in the store, so I'm so excited to have this for the holidays....or in a week. either is fine by me. just run mailman, run! :)

Lasty, I'm going to share with you all, my favorite parfum, It's made by those classy Parisians, so we know it's good. It's the one and only Hanae Mori. P.S. make sure you are getting the parfum, not the eau de toilettte. The latter is water based and is much more of a body mist, where the parfum is oil based and will last longer. So it's more expensive, but it lasts longer and you use less, therefore being more for your money! If you love this, you'll love Hanae Mori NO. 4 as well.

Alright ladies. That's all for today. xoxo

holiday obsession

I am a holiday junkie. Yes siree, I am. I am obsessed with the music, the colors, the snow (if we had any..), the decorations, the smell--basically everything--MINUS, the fact that I work retail and it's painful to be working rather than keeping up with all the Lifetime movies that are on, featuring heartfelt, budget cut story-lines that I won't be able to see again till next year. NOT to mention that On Demand has a holiday section...BUT BUT BUT, everything is 2.99. stupid.

Anyways, I officially finished decorating our apt today and I've been basking in it all day, dreading the morrow on which it's back to work. And on the topic of work, another thing I love about the holidays are the clothes! This season's styles are perfect for the holidays too. From fur-I only believe in wearing the real stuff (say no to faux- sorry PETA)- to the over-sized sweaters and glamoury glitz- and true religion, we aren't talking about you, your nasty jeans need to stop being made, they are over-priced and disgusting. Anybody reading this, wearing sparkles on your thick threaded jeans should take this as the only warning you need to take them off and throw them away. WONDERFUL.
Anyways, again, Thanksgiving was great. Lots of fun, seeing my family and Ty's family. Spent actual Thanksgiving with my family down in Henderson, with my mom's side and then next few days, we spent with Ty's family here in Salt Lake. And wow, a big shout out to Madison and Evan, who we had so much fun with up at the St. Regis in Park City. Its an amazing resort! So much fun!
Enjoy the pics.

Ty's birthday week!

Back to blogging, I have to get straight into my complaining of how busy life is lately. We all know I kill for a day on the couch to catch up on all the best shows (which is my today), but besides this last chance break, tis the season for overworking, especially working in retail. Luckily, Christmas music will be playing, and I'm sure work will be unable to ignore Justin Beiber's new album. haha anyways, this is Ty's birthday week, and considering we are both so busy with work, and him with school too, I've decided to make it a week event. I started off on Monday, by bringing him home a new PS3 and the new game Dead Island, which is an homage to our favorite show to watch together, The Walking Dead. I know this is me bragging about my wifely duties, but I need the satisfaction, and Ty is too private about my few successes. :)  however, along with his new t-shirts, as of yesterday, I am still thinking of ideas. Guys are most definitely hard to shop for. so picky. Anyways, to go along with this busy week, work for the both of us on Fri, and then Sat (which is Ty's actual birthday). BUT Madison and Evan and their new baby girl, Holland, will be meeting up with us when we get off work for dinner. I cannot wait to meet baby Holland and see Madison, who I haven't seen for over a year and a half! Sunday is back to the babysitting at chuch, and then off to work...again. Finally, the break begins, and on Mon morning, Ty and I are meeting up with Madison and Evan (and Holland) in Park City, where we will adventure the day away, eating and enjoying the vacation life. The next morning I get up to get on a plane to Vegas, to start my lazy vacation with the family, prepping for thanksgiving! I am so excited, and even though I complain because busy means no couch time, I do get to spend some great days with even better people. Can't wait!
Baby Holland

Toodles. xoxo
