BEFORE AND AFTER. New Home Renovation Reveal

oh hey hey hey. It's been like a REALLY LONG TIME since I've blogged....mostly because I just have no time for it anymore....BUT, I took these before pics of our new home, and recently got the current AFTER pics taken so, since I did a before and after on the blog of our first home, I figured, I should do the same for this big boy. :) I'm tired, so there will not be a lot of chatter. haha You're welcome. haha :)

So here we go. Let's start with the Garages.... because they look the same. haha starting slow. So our new home has two garages. a 2 car xl garage on the west side of the house and a single car garage that was used as a shop on the east side of our house. Both have been untouched, but the single car garage on the east side will become a master suite in the next couple years, leaving the double car xl garage on the west to be our only garage... :)   and let's just not even talk about the fact that all
THREE garage doors were different.... none of them matched the next one... I know...smh.

one thing you can see in this picture is we removed a few small walls/doorways to really open this space up. We had our favorite contractor come in and put a beam up so that this was possible. :)

Sad to say goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa

Having my parents in town was so much fun. Living so far away from family and friends can be really lonely sometimes, so we are definitely all for visitors. However, I wish they could stay forever and I'm always driving them by the homes for sale, just hoping that it will happen...unfortunately corn and wheat fields can't compete with the beach and mountains of California. :) Lucky for us, we always have free, long-term options for California vacations! NOW, that's something we have and will continue to take advantage of! Here are some pictures of our last few hours with grandma and grandpa!

Godbye lunch :(

grandma and grandpa come to Kansas

These past few weeks have been so much fun having so much of my family in town.  Our first visitors were my parents, who drove out to come visit for a few days while they were traveling through, between art shows. It was so much fun and with the twins' personalities just bursting it was so great seeing them interact with my parents. They are growing so fast, so with all their new "tricks" and developments it is so much fun to watch them show off in front of friends and family. Here are 1/2 of the pics from their visit....the others will follow shortly, considering I have too many!

these pictures of Fey crack me up! her little puffy post-nap face with her squinty eyes...perfection :)

THE ZOO
The twins are finally to the age that you can point at an animal and they'll actually look for it and be excited. I am an animal freak, so I've been looking forward to this stage for a long time! It was so much fun going with my parents to the zoo for their first time. I highly recommend taking as many adult arms with you anywhere when you have two (or more) fearless children who are now capable of running in opposite directions of each other.

Being held by mom is just unacceptable now that they've tasted freedom. :(
and Fey is at this stage where she kisses everything...even half-eaten fish statues

 MEATBALLS
Fitz is so obsessed with putting anything and EVERYTHING on his head. It is so funny! The twins were eating meatballs for dinner one night while my parents were here and Fitz decided that they looked like the perfect headpiece. Turns out they are easy to balance because one somehow stuck and stayed on his head through most of dinner. Fey finally caught on and though it looked delicious...luckily, it fell off just in time to avoid Fey's bite.
After the meatball wearing, they took fake naps on their food and that was the end of it.
(just dismiss the fact that Fitz is wearing a purple bib....blame that one on Grandma)

Grandma puts things on her head too!
